Frequently Asked Questions
Have a question that isn't listed? Let us know, and our tour staff will be happy to provide answers and updates! Just email us at legends@cmich.edu.
01
Do we have to get tickets in advance?
We sell advance tickets to help spread tour-goers throughout available time slots to avoid large crowds at peak times. Groups should book early to ensure enough tickets for their group's desired time slot. A maximum of 30 tickets are available per time slot, with half-hour and hourly spots being the most popular.
You do not need advance tickets, but they are highly recommended for groups larger than 5 people.
02
How long are the tours, and what should I wear?
Tours are outside and last approximately 1 hour, so tour-goers should dress appropriately for the weather with warm clothes and comfy shoes!
03
How early should I arrive?
Tour-goers are asked to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to their scheduled departure time to ensure a timely event. With tours leaving every 10 minutes, we're on a tight timeline!
Arriving early gives you plenty of time to put on your wristbands, watch our introductory video, and take a final bathroom break before your journey departs.
04
Is there an age limit?
Tours are open to the public, but they are not recommended for children under 13.
05
Are the tours accessible for all?
Tour routes are adaptable and accessible for tour-goers using wheelchairs.
Please contact us at least two weeks prior to the event if you would like to request an ASL intrepreter for your tour experience.
06
What if there is bad weather?
Tours are held regardless of the weather. Dress for the conditions, and join us for a spooktacular time!
07
Are the stories true? How scary are the tours?
Foolish mortals! Every year, our tour-goers experience for themselves the sights and sounds of spirits walking among us - the cold spots, the howling air, and the inexplicable secrets contained within the campus grounds and buildings, past and present.
Truth be told, tears of fear have been shed by some of our more skittish participants. However, most tour-goers experience a few screams, some laughs, and even some hair raised on the back of their necks!
For 22 years, our tour guides have been telling these spooky campus lore stories at several lesser-known campus locations, creating a frightening good time!
